6. How do I enter how much the owner cash balance is prior to my entering transactions in SimplifyEm?It's important to keep track of cash balance you have with an owner client. In order to record your beginning cash balance, you would do the following. Let take a specific example. Joe Smith is an owner client for whom you're starting to track data in SimplifyEm in October 2009. You had a cash reserve for him of $500. You have decided to start recording transaction in SimplifyEm as of November 2009. You would do the following to note the $500 beginning balance: 1. Go to the "Owners" page by clicking on "owners" link at the top of the page.
2. Locate the owners for whom you want to enter the beginning balance and click on 'Record' next to the Owner Contribution.
3. This will bring up a window that allows you to enter the Owners beginning balance. You can now add the owner contribution of $500 as of October 31 2009 and click on SAVE. This Owner Beginning balance will show up in the appropriate Owner Monthly Statement.
Note:You can add multiple owner contributions by clicking on the "Record Another Payment" link. It will create a new row for you to enter the new owner contribution |
7. How do I track the checks that I write to the owner?When you write a check to an owner it's called an 'Owner Draw'. For example, let's say based on money collected in the month of October. You are sending the owner a statement and check for $600 on October 31, for you monthly owner statement to be accurate, you will enter an owner draw of $600 as of October 31 2009 in SimplifyEm. You would do the following to note the $600 Owner Draw: 1. Go to the 'Owners' page by clicking on "Owners" link at the top of the page.
2. Locate the owners for whom you want to enter Owner Draw and click on 'Record' next to the Owner Draw.
3. This will bring up a window that allows you to enter the Owners beginning balance. You can now add the owner contribution of $500 as of October 31 2009 and click on SAVE. This Owner Beginning balance will show up in the appropriate Owner Monthly Statement.
