Real Estate Lighting PureSpectrum
Jun 23, 2010: PureSpectrum has accepted an invitation to present the company’s full line of unique dimmable energy efficient lighting products today at a private lunch and learn in Manhattan hosted by LVI Energy that will be attended by representatives from the largest, most influential commercial real estate companies in New York.
Following PureSpectrum’s appearance at BuildingsNY/GreenBuildingsNY last week in New York, program sales manager Nick Peragine was invited to be a featured speaker and PureSpectrum will be the only lighting company presenting at the luncheon session taking place today. LVI Energy is one of the nation’s leading energy service companies, providing rebate tracking and tax credits, energy audits, power factor correction assessments, site surveys, demand response programs and measurement and verification to customers on a national basis. The company’s turnkey energy solutions include retrofits or replacement programs for HVAC&R systems, lighting, signage and roofing.

In 2009, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg launched the PlaNYC initiative aimed at reducing the city’s total carbon footprint by 30 percent by 2030 and New York City’s city council passed legislation known as the “Greener, Greater Buildings Plan” that requires existing commercial buildings to immediately begin taking measures to reduce energy consumption. Lighting represents between 25-40 percent of electricity consumption in the commercial and industrial sectors, and energy efficient lighting upgrades or retrofits offer the highest return on investment compared to other electrical system upgrades.
PureSpectrum has proven that implementing the company’s step-dimming lighting products combined with motion sensing can save a building as much as 77 percent compared to current energy usage, and several commercial structures in New York have begun pilot programs using the company’s step dimming electronic ballasts or dimmable linear fluorescent fixtures. PureSpectrum’s step dimming ballasts are a cost-effective alternative for commercial buildings seeking to retrofit existing fixtures to realize significant energy efficiency gains, and the company’s step dimming T8 fixtures coupled with motion or occupancy sensors provides a rapid path to substantial energy savings by replacing existing lighting.
