Property Management Verus
April 12, 2010: Elk River Real Estate and Y Street Ventures today introduced a new company that combines the capabilities of both firms, offering comprehensive brokerage, asset and property management services as well as advisory services to owners and investors in various sectors of commercial real estate. The new organization, VERUS Real Estate Advisors (VERUS), is led by the former CEO of Sammons Enterprises and Founder of Y Street Ventures, Bob Korba. Mr. Korba served more than 20 years as the CEO of Sammons before assuming his current position as Chairman of Sammons in January 2009.
“Our key focus is to provide valuable real estate services to clients who are managing through a very challenging real estate cycle. We believe there is an opportunity to provide real estate asset owners with a higher level of service that is currently provided by this contracting industry,” said Bob Korba, Chairman of VERUS. “VERUS, through strategic planning, is designed to be the advocate of these asset owners, as well as assisting them in managing their balance sheets by increasing their overall portfolio performance.”
The core VERUS service belief is that no single real estate service company can provide the value-maximizing services required in this challenged marketplace. VERUS was launched through a partnership between Elk River Real Estate and
Y Street Ventures. The new company was created by combining Elk River Real
Estate with a growth capital investment from Y Street Ventures in order to
expand our real estate service capabilities and investment capital
resources. The two firms created VERUS in order to combine the strengths of
each company while bringing together an experienced and talented group of
executives. Sparky Pearson of Elk River Investments and Robert Korba of Y
Street Ventures provide VERUS Real Estate Advisors with proven leadership,
vision and success. Prior to Elk River, Sparky was a founding partner with
Staubach Capital Partners, where he was responsible for more than $8 billion in real estate transactions. Prior to Y Street, Bob was the CEO of Sammons Enterprises for 20 years before his retirement in 2008. At his retirement, Sammons assets approached $40 billion with annual revenue near $3 billion. Bob currently is the Chairman of Sammons Enterprises and a director of Guggenheim Partners, Isecuretrac and Vinson Process Control Company.
