Atlanta – Barbara L. Cross, RPA, has joined Alter Asset Management as Property Manager in the firm’s Atlanta-based Southeast Regional Office, announced Samuel F. Gould, President. The property and facility management company is an affiliate of The Alter Group, the Chicago-based national corporate real estate development firm.

Cross has more than 27 years of progressive, hands-on property, budgeting and information systems management experience. At Alter Asset Management, she has direct daily responsibility for managing The Alter Group’s nine-building Atlanta portfolio at The Alter Group’s business parks – Brookside Concourse in Alpharetta and Chattahoochee Corners in Duluth. Additionally, she manages the River Green Property Owners Association at Chattahoochee Corners and the Brookside Property Owners Association at Brookside Concourse on behalf of the third-party building owners in the two office parks. She also manages the 127,500 SF Brookside/100, a building owned by JD/LD Atlanta.

Her responsibilities include supervising on-site maintenance staff; administering leases; selecting and supervising independent contractors; preparing annual budgets including capital expenditure recommendations; overseeing tenant collections and receivables; supervising tenant move-ins/move-outs; selecting and working with vendors; and maintaining tenant relations.

Before joining Alter Asset Management, Cross was a Property Manager with Lincoln Harris CSG, where she managed and maintained the daily operations of 13 medical office buildings. Previously, she was a Property Manager with American Resurgens Management Corporation.

During her career, Cross has also worked for Insignia/ESG, Inc.; Steinemann & Company; Kern & Company; and AFCO Realty Associates.

Cross has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia. In addition to her RPA designation, she is a past member of the Building Owners & Managers Association; holds a Georgia Real Estate Salesperson’s license; and is pursuing the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation.
