Island Villas, a property management and villa rentals & sales company based in Barbados, is celebrating Earth Day 2010 with the launch of a company environmental policy. In addition to this, the company has joined the Earth Day Network as a part of a global effort to generate a Billion Acts of Green.
Barbados, Caribbean – Island Villas, a property management and villa sales & rentals company based in Barbados, is pleased to announce the launch of its environmental policy in celebration of Earth Day 2010. This policy represents the companys ongoing commitment to environmental preservation and sustainable development and will serve to reinforce the companys existing Go Green environmental campaign.
Managing Director of Island Villas, Mr. Richard Eames, has expressed his delight with the new policy, Since its inception, Island Villas has expanded efforts to accept its corporate social responsibility. The Island Villas Charity Fund and the Go Green campaign have been tremendously successful and the company has been proud to support local charitable initiatives such as the Barbados National Trust and the AIDS Foundation as well as introduce several innovative eco-friendly initiatives such as recycling bins, annual tree planting, staff training and the use of eco-friendly cleaning products. This policy further demonstrates our dedication to sustainable development, especially in the tourism industry, and the company encourages other corporate entities to do the same.
In addition to the launch of the environmental policy, Island Villas has undertaken several other projects to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. The company has registered with the Earth Day Network as part of the global effort to generate A Billion Acts of Green. In the month leading up to Earth Day, the office team ran a paper drive designed to reduce waste and encourage paper recycling. Re-usable bags for life were also produced and distributed to staff and placed within each property for use as an alternative to plastic bags.
According to Mr. Eames, These are just a few of the initiatives that have been introduced via the companys Go Green campaign. Island Villas is pleased to represent Barbados on the Earth Day Network and the entire team is looking forward to continuing our efforts throughout the year.
