Green Property Management for Property Manager, Landlord: Radon

Green Property Management for Property Manager, Landlord: Radon

Radon has no taste, smell or color and a residential real estate property can have dangerous levels of it. Radon is the number one cause of lung cancer deaths for non-smokers in America and its presence in a property can be a huge danger to tenants.  Only small and medium amounts of exposure can cause lung cancer. However, Radon exposure can easily be prevented.

Property Managers, Landlords or tenants can measure radon in the real estate property, as it is very simple and easy to do.  Radon concentrations can vary in properties based on whether they are new, old or with season and day to day.  In case of Radon presence, it can be easily mitigated or corrected in existing properties. The primary steps for radon prevention are focused on sealing radon entry routes and managing the ventilation of the property.
