Residential Real Estate Market Sunbelt

Residential Real Estate Market Sunbelt

Over the last few years, real estate market has been shaped by national forces, which caused the real estate boom and bust. However, real Estate has always been a local business and prices are driven by local conditions.

Harvard Economist, Edward Glaeser has studied the growth of the Sunbelt and agrees that local conditions drive real estate markets. His study shows that winter temperatures are a key factor in determining the growth of population, which has a direct relationship with real estate demand. Regulations also have significant impact on real estate. Edward got lot of criticism for predicting that “older, colder” cities will never rise back again and that the future lies in the Sunbelt areas.

Money magazine interviewed Edward Glaeser about the factors that drive real estate markets and you can read that interview by CLICKING HERE
