Too many people bought too much house for too many years.  Mortgage standards were very loose and many loans were sold and then packaged into bonds that almost collapsed the world’s financial system.

Real Estate prices do fall in the short term and short-term in real estate can be a 7-8 year cycle in some areas. So buying a larger house to live in or invest and then flip no longer works in this new environment.

It is time to return to the basics.
